Just before Easter, the Edge and Rock had their joint-retreat to a church called Newhills, in Bucksburn. The theme of the weekend was 'We're all in this together'. If you don't know where that theme is from, you need to watch the education that is High School Musical. We had a great time, got up to plenty of activities, including a scavenger hunt in the city centre!
After the Easter break, Rock and Edge will be running all the way up to the end of term so keep coming along! Also keep your eyes and ears open for what's going on in the summer, it's going to be great!
As it seems everyone is a member of Facebook and Bebo these days, there are a few new website addresses to add to your favorites.

Travelers Leaving and Returning
Laura Marshal and Emma Gallagher are away on a trip around the world for the first 6 months or so of the year, you can keep up to date with their progress by following their blog which will be updated when they get a chance on their travels. The blog can be found here - http://atw08.blogspot.com/
Nicola Davidson and Judith Walker were in Nigeria for around 12 days to visit the Aba Medical Centre earlier in the year.
Sean Mechie was away in Fiji for 5 weeks to teach English and coach football., as well as a few other cool things like skydiving! Ask him about the trip if you see Sean around Banchory.
Fizz and Nicola are/were away in Mexico with the UPC Edge group building houses.
Please keep these people and any other you hear are travelling in your thoughts and prayers over the coming weeks and months.
With the lighter evenings, hopefully Rock and Edge will get outdoors soon for outdoor games which is always great fun. Stay tuned for info on events in the upcoming months, including the Youth Celebration. In the summer the rookies are planning to take a group from the Rock to Glasgow to join with another youth group and do mission work for a week, if your interested, contact Aaron or Caitlin! Also in the summer we will be hosting a group from the UPC Edge from Seattle. They will be visiting for 2 weeks or so and we will be doing mission work in the north-east.

Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
Jesus answered, " `Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and the most important commandment. The second most important commandment is like it: `Love your neighbour as you love yourself.' (Matthew 22:37-39)
The Edge and Rock in Banchory aim to be:
Making Contact, Making Friends, and Making Disciples
The Edge and Rock have existed since 1992 and have been supported by a full-time youth coordinator since then. The work is supported financially by the Banchory St Ternan East and Banchory St Ternan West Parish Churches of Scotland.
The current Youth coordinator is Tony Stephen who has been in post since 1995.
The work is done by a large team of volunteer workers and one or two gap-year rookies each year.
Interested in being one of our rookies? Please contact Tony.
Are you missing out by not being involved? We are always looking for people who are willing to help with our young people, and for ways to help you as parents. If you are interested or have any suggestions or questions please contact Tony, see Contact's Page
